The law dealing with civil partnerships is relatively new and as such is changing with every new Court decision. In 2019 civil partnerships were extended to heterosexual couples.

Those in a civil partnership benefit from similar rights as married couples, and upon dissolution similar entitlements apply to those getting divorced.

*Before you can apply to the Court for dissolution, you must have been in the civil partnership for one year.

Preliminary Advice Meeting Options

1) Dissolution (or Divorce) - £210 + VAT at 20%
To discuss matters arising out of relationship breakdown including divorce, finances, property, pensions and other assets, as well as arrangements for your children.

2) Children - £200 + VAT at 20%
To discuss issues solely relating to children following separation including who they will live with, contact, holidays abroad, relocation, changing schools or any other specific issues.

This meeting may be free if there are issues involving Domestic Abuse or Childrens Services.
